.:: DEV DIARY #010 ::.

Hey Everyone,

Its been a while…that’s an understatement for sure!. Where have we been you may ask?. Well, it’s a long story but for those that have not been following along on our socials or seen the various posts in Discord we have made about the situation…We basically had some serious health issues that resulted in one of the team leaving for good (Noah) and me (Flex) literally being forced to remain in bed for almost six months due to a serious back injury.

When you start the process of developing a game that could potentially take several years to complete, you try to envisage and account for almost every possible scenario that could potentially derail the game development along the way. The ONE thing us game devs never ever consider is how much a long term illness or injury could totally blow the plans you made right out of the water. Honestly, at no point did we think that one of us would be bed-ridden without the ability to even use a laptop for a period of time let alone a serious health scare that affected us so much that one of us decided to walk away from game development for ever.

Anyway, with that out of the way we are pleased to say that things are now back on track or as on track as they could be at this point. As I mentioned previously we have a very very talented freelancer assisting us in all aspects of the games development and should seriously accelerate the project along. Delays are a bitch and as players ourselves there is nothing more frustrating than hearing “due to unforeseen circumstances” a game has been delayed but In some rare instances, this is sadly just the way it is.

So what have we been doing lately? For starters, we have created over two hundred hand made brand new XXX animations for the game. These include everything from solo, duo and even threesomes including both male and female as well as more specialised animations for the more unusual tastes especially in the Dungeon club location with it’s multiple rooms. We have also had to create various animations for different cut scenes and storytelling elements that we have planned for further down the line.

We have also been catching up on our dreaded to do list. This to do list is my absolute nemesis. It sits on my desktop glaring at me menacingly, daring me to open it and confront my darkest nightmares. Some items are minor, some are major and most need fixing RIGHT NOW!!! One of these items which has been bugging me for a while and many people complained about it. Yep, there was no way of resetting the car once it had flipped or crashed. You can now press the “B” to reset the car, although you do have to be in the proximity of the car to be able to do this. That’s another one off the list.

One final point I wanted to mention was the character selection screen we promised a while back. We did want to give the player an option to play as either a male or female and this will still be the case. We may be able to include it in the forthcoming update but it will be tight whether we do or not. The simple fact is that we still haven’t decided on the final look of the main female character. We have several ideas in mind but we need to consider the impact it will have on the overall story. We want a cohesive narrative that will work with either character but still have enough difference between the two that the game can be played in a unique style with either selected.

The only obvious bottleneck with having both a male and female protagonist is the actual XXX part of the game. These would have to have totally different animations and interactions as well as new dialogue and FX. Luckily the animations we made do have the ability (with some tweaking) to be used in some instances by both characters. I think in the long run though, it will be beneficial to have the choice of either as when we ran a Twitter/X poll asking which character people would prefer to play with, the votes were quite split for both. This shouldn’t have come as a surprise really when you think about it.
